Family Care

Clinical support for families who expect more than a referral.

Discreet, clinician-led behavioral health for families navigating challenges with children and young people — working with the whole family, not just the child.

Care in Practice

Support for the moments families actually live through.

The work is clinical, but the setting is personal. Atferd helps families turn assessment findings into home routines, school coordination, and communication patterns that can hold up on ordinary days.

Sessions

Private, scheduled, and never rushed.

Sessions take place over secure video or in person — with the same senior clinician throughout. No handoffs. No brief introductions at each appointment.

Between sessions

Written summaries with specific next steps.

After each session, families receive a brief summary and concrete actions. The goal is that something useful happens between appointments, not just during them.

School coordination

School is part of the plan, not a separate conversation.

Where relevant, school coordination is written into the care plan with your explicit consent. Atferd speaks to schools directly — so families do not have to manage two separate channels.

Progress

Reviewed at set milestones, not left open-ended.

Care does not run indefinitely without accountability. Progress is measured against agreed goals, with a documented review at each milestone.

Areas of Support

What we address

Atferd works with children and families across a range of behavioral, emotional, and academic challenges. All engagements begin with a care evaluation — we never assign a program before we understand the full picture.

Common presentations

  • Anxiety, worry, and emotional dysregulation
  • Attention and executive function challenges
  • Behavioral difficulties at home or school
  • Social difficulties and peer relationships
  • Academic underperformance linked to behavioral factors
  • Family communication and boundary-setting

The Family Experience

What to expect

01

A discreet initial conversation

We begin with a private, no-pressure consultation to understand your family's situation, concerns, and goals. No forms before we've spoken. No assumptions before we've listened.

02

Clinical assessment, if needed

If a formal assessment is warranted, Atferd clinicians conduct a comprehensive evaluation using standardized measures. Results are explained clearly and in plain language.

03

A structured care plan

Once goals are agreed, Atferd builds a coordinated plan spanning home, school, and therapeutic care. Every element is clinician-directed.

04

Ongoing support and review

Progress is tracked against defined milestones. Families receive regular updates and adjustments happen as the child develops.

Common Questions

What families ask us most

If your question isn't here, a clinician will reply to any direct enquiry within one business day.

Send a direct question →

Will my child's school be told?

Not unless you agree. School coordination only happens with explicit family consent and when it is clinically beneficial. Nothing leaves Atferd without your written authorisation at each stage.

How quickly can we get started?

Most families have their initial consultation within one week of reaching out. Assessment and care planning typically follow within two weeks of that first conversation.

Do you work with insurance?

Yes. We verify your coverage during the initial consultation and explain any out-of-pocket costs before care begins — so there are no surprises.

What ages do you support?

Atferd supports children and young people from age 5 through early adulthood, with programs matched to each developmental stage and school context.

Is the initial consultation really free?

Yes. The consultation is no-cost and non-binding. We believe families deserve an honest conversation about whether Atferd is the right fit before any commitment is made.

Your family's care starts with one conversation.
