Five Stages
One framework. Every engagement.
The Atferd Framework is the same across all client types — families, students, and school partners. What changes is the context. The rigor stays constant.

30–45 minutes
Initial Consultation
A private, no-pressure conversation with a senior clinician. We listen before we recommend — and we never ask you to complete forms before we've spoken. The goal is to understand your situation clearly and honestly.
- Held over a secure video call or in person
- No clinical jargon — plain, direct communication
- No commitment required at any stage
- Completely confidential from the first contact

1–2 sessions
Clinical Assessment
Where warranted, a formal evaluation using validated, standardized measures. This is not a box-ticking exercise — it is a thorough clinical picture of the individual. Results are explained in plain language, with space for questions.
- Assessment conducted by board-certified clinicians only
- Standardised instruments with documented validity
- Family and school perspectives gathered where appropriate
- Written summary provided after every assessment

Agreed within one week of assessment
Structured Care Plan
Goals are set collaboratively — aligned across the individual, their family, and their school context where relevant. Every care plan is clinician-directed, time-bounded, and built around measurable milestones, not open-ended commitments.
- Clear goals with defined timelines
- Roles and responsibilities explicit for all parties
- School coordination included where clinically indicated
- Amendments at every review — plans evolve as the person does

Ongoing — frequency agreed per plan
Active Support
Clinical programming delivered through structured sessions, coordinated family outreach, and — where schools are involved — embedded practitioner contact. Support is consistent, not episodic. The same clinician stays with the case.
- Continuity of care — no handoffs between practitioners
- Session notes maintained in HIPAA-compliant records
- Families updated at regular agreed intervals
- Crisis protocols in place throughout the engagement

Quarterly, or at agreed milestones
Progress Review
Outcomes are measured against the goals agreed at the care plan stage. Reviews are documented and shared with the family. Where goals have been met, a clinical exit plan is prepared. Where they have not, the plan is adjusted — not abandoned.
- Documented progress report at every review
- Outcomes compared against baseline and agreed goals
- Structured exit or continuation decision with clinical rationale
- Referral pathway prepared if specialist input is required
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your information stays with us
Confidentiality is not a policy statement at Atferd — it shapes how every session is documented, every record is stored, and every communication is handled.
HIPAA-Compliant Platform
All records, communications, and session notes are held on a HIPAA-compliant infrastructure. No client information is stored in unsecured systems.
Strict Confidentiality
Nothing leaves Atferd without explicit written consent. School and family coordination only happens with the client's agreement at each stage.
Clinician Continuity
You work with one assigned senior clinician throughout. No transfers, no brief handovers, no loss of context between sessions.
No Unnecessary Disclosure
Atferd does not share assessment results, progress notes, or clinical summaries with any party — including schools — without explicit, specific consent.
HIPAA notice: Atferd operates as a HIPAA-covered entity. All client health information is protected under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. You have the right to access your records, request amendments, and know exactly how your information is used. A full privacy notice is provided at intake.
